　6月にヨーロッパ、オーストラリア、日本でのみ発売されたベスト盤です。CD時代にふさわしく Blowin' In The Wind から'89年の 「Oh Merrcy」までの曲を、まあソツなくCD一枚にぎっしり詰めた大盛りの幕の内弁当のようなもので、これからディランを聞き始めようというリスナーには手頃なところではないかと思います。

　アルバムのラストに収録された Shelter From The Storm は「Blood On The Tracks」のものとは別の未発表テイクで、おそらく発売直前に差し替えられた初期のバージョンかと思われます。少しとんがった感じの覇気に満ちた演奏で、なかなかよいです。なおこの曲は、'96年の「ザ・エージェント」なる映画のサントラにも収録されていました。
